The charity was founded in 2009 shortly after Regina George’s return from Kenya. Regina travelled to support her sister who had lost her husband as a result of serious illness. Elizabeth was devastated, financially inept and without adequate shelter. Regina helped regain her stability by providing (Food? Shelter? Clothing?). After Elizabeth’s recovery, Regina and Elizabeth decided to set up a charity to cater to other widows and orphans in need of help. They created Worphan, a registered charity that helps widows and orphans who need support. Worphan currently looks after a group of approximately 40 orphans and 15 widows. The charity is critical to society and is still welcoming people in need of help both in Kenya and UK.
